The Board of Directors of Destination Huntingburg has hired Sarah Flamion as director as the organization’s director.

In the part-time position, Flamion will further enhance quality of life in Huntingburg by developing programs, writing grants and encouraging and supporting redevelopment, as well as existing businesses, in the downtown.
Flamion was born and raised in Huntingburg, and works part-time at CVS/Pharmacy.

Destination Huntingburg Board President Crystal Buehler in a release says the group is thrilled for Sarah to join Destination Huntingburg in the newly created director position.

Buehler says Flamion has an extensive history of involvement in the community, and is confident she will lead the organization to enhance and support the historic downtown area.

Flamion graduated from Southridge High School in 1998 and attended Ivy Tech Community College to study photography.

She joined the Herbstfest Committee as chairperson in 2011, a role in which she served for three years. She is currently a board member of the Herbstfest Committee and Huntingburg Elementary School PTO. Flamion is married and has three children.

Established in 2014, Destination Huntingburg is a state-recognized Indiana Main Street Organization.

In 2016, Indiana Main Streets were able to secure over $82 million in public funds and $201 million in private investments to help communities revitalize downtowns. There are 126 Main Street organizations in the state.
