Gerald W. Schwartz, age 63 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Gerald was born in Huntingburg, IN on November 2, 1953 to Alfred J. and LaVenia S. (Padgett) Schwartz. He married Donna Hohler on August 23, 1975 at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Gerald retired from Kimball International – National Office Furniture after 41 plus years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

He enjoyed going on Carnival Cruises, visiting the Smokey Mountains, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Donna Schwartz of Jasper, two sons, Brian Schwartz (Julie) of Jasper, and Jeffrey Schwartz (Cari) of Bloomington, three Grandchildren, Henry, Thomas, and Josephine Schwartz, two sisters, Darlene Hassfurther, Ferdinand, and Judith Greulich (Omer), Shepherdsville, KY, two brothers, Kenneth Schwartz (Carolyn) Sevierville, TN and Terry Schwartz (Joyce) Jasper, IN.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald Schwartz will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Funeral Home in Jasper, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
