Marie C. Peters, age 93, of Jasper, IN, passed away at 1:26 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
Marie was born in Jasper, Indiana, on November 6, 1923, to Leo and Catherine (Schilling) Sherman. She married Edwin Peters on May 9, 1953 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1975.
Marie was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.
She loved playing bingo.
Surviving are two daughters Jackie Messmer (Keith), Newburgh, IN, Joyce Peters, Jasper, IN, two sons, Jerry Peters (Jacque), Evansville, IN, Jeff Peters (Virginia), Jasper, IN, five grandchildren, Jesse Peters, Jenica Taber, Andrea, Kelsey, and Eric Messmer, and three great grandchildren, Nalani Peters, Sadie and Elijah Taber.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Ruth and Leona Sherman, and two brothers Leroy and Walter Sherman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie C. Peters will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
