Jerry W. Kays, age 65, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Jerry was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on October 1, 1952, to Henry and Margaret (Kunkler) Kays.

Jerry was a graduate of Huntingburg High School.

He was a self-employed mechanic, who owned and operated Kays Auto Service in Huntingburg.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, AMA Motorcycle Club, Jasper Outdoor REC, the Jasper Moose, and a bowling league.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, attending music events, spending time with family and friends, and loved eating chicken.

Surviving are his fiancé, Karen Wigand, Jasper, IN, one half-sister, Jean Walters (Marvin), Huntingburg, IN, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
