Ardella M. Daunhauer, 90, of Ferdinand passed away on Saturday, January 27th at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

She was born January 31, 1927 in Jasper to Hugo and Sarah (Knust) Sander. Ardella married Jerome S. Daunhauer on August 12, 1947 at St. Joseph Church in Jasper.

He preceded her in death on April 16, 1968.

Ardella was retired from the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, and its St. Annes Sodality. She was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Auxiliary Post 124.

Ardella is survived by a son, Charles (Sara) Daunhauer of Newburg; a daughter, Brenda Werne of Ferdinand; a brother, David (Marsha) Sander of Indianapolis; a sister, Margaret (Tom) Goldsby of Indianapolis; a step-brother, Jerry Schuster; three step-sisters, Mary Butler, Margie Cahill and Betty McPherson; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Ardella was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Werne and Marlene Kress; one grandchild; a brother, Richard Sander and her step-mother, Helen Schuster.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8:00 PM and Thursday from 7-9:30 AM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand.
