Harold P. Durcholz, 89, of Ferdinand, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 9th.

Harold was born August 26, 1928 in Jasper to Lawrence Sr. and Hilda (Oeding) Durcholz. He married Virlee Kippenbrock on July 4,

1953 in St. Ferdinand Church. Harold retired from Jofco after 45 years of service. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 and the Ferdinand VFW. Herald was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand.

He enjoyed gardening, IU Basketball and Nascar Racing.

 

Harold is survived by his wife, Virlee; one son, Allen Durcholz of Louisville, three daughters, Mary

(William) Dauby of Ferdinand, Jayne (Gary) Stewart of Dalton City, IL., Dianne (Edward) Lee of Washington DC.; seven grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Stewart, Laurel, Shaina and Ross Dauby, Brian Sullivan, Arden Lee; three great-grandchildren, Briana Sullivan, Ellie and Dawn Stewart. Harold was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Lynne; two brothers, Larry and Robert Durcholz.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct Military Graveside Rights. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8:00 PM and on Friday from 7-9:30 AM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
