Barbara “Susie” Baxter, age 89, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Barbara was born in Loogootee, Indiana, on September 28, 1928, to Lawrence and Eathel (Workman) Buhr.  She married Carl Klingle on June 30, 1949.  He preceded her in death on September 13, 1982.  She then married Ernest “Gene” Baxter on November 28, 1983.  He preceded her in death on May 24, 2017.

She was a graduate of Loogootee High School.

Barbara was a farmer most of her life and was also a beautician for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting and loved dogs and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three daughters, Wanda Uebelhor, and her husband, Rick, Jasper, IN, Diana Klingle-Wilson, and her husband, Ken, Pittsboro, IN, and Kim Doty, and her husband, John, French Lick, IN, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband one daughter, Karla Klingle, one son, Daniel Klingle, one brother, Wilford “Bud” Buhr.

A Memorial Mass for Barbara “Susie” Baxter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield, Indiana.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwood Retirement Community or to a favorite charity.
