The investigation of an alleged internal theft at a Huntingburg convenience store ended with the arrest earlier this morning of a Huntingburg man.

Around 5 o’clock Thursday evening, Huntingburg Police were called to the Huck’s convenience store in regards to an internal theft.

When they arrived officers were shown a video by the store’s manager of 27-year old Jacob Braunecker, a store employee, taking items from the business the night before without paying for them.

This morning, police say they observed Braunecker drive into the Huck’s parking lot for work knowing he had suspended driver’s license.

Braunecker was first taken into custody for the driving while suspended offense and was taken to the Huntingburg Police Department for questioning about the thefts.

He was eventually placed under arrest and was taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center in Jasper on misdemeanor charges of Theft and Driving while Suspended.
