A neighborhood boil order for residents on Jasper’s near west side continues today

The order was originally issued late Wednesday afternoon by the Jasper Municipal Water Department due to a water main break affecting customers and residents who live along a four block stretch of Dorbett Street from 9th Street to 13th Street just west of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

Water department officials say this is the only area affected!

The department will keep those affected customers and the public informed as changes are made and as to when the boil order is lifted through the local media.

They say the boil order which again was first issued late Wednesday afternoon will last a minimum of 48 hours or until 2 water samples are taken and pass their testing.

Residents affected are asked to boil their water for 5 minutes before Human & pet consumption. Meanwhile, the water is safe for bathing.

If you have any questions concerning this boil order you may call the Jasper Municipal Water Department at 812-482-5252.
