79-year-old Ruth Ann Cherry of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 7:41 a.m., on Tuesday, July 2, at her residence.

She was born December 19, 1939, in Huntingburg, to Irvin V. and Helen M. (Friedman) Underwood.  Ruth Ann was a healthcare worker, operated Slender Quest Gym & Tanning and Blitz Builders, was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and volunteered at Shared Abundance.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenneth Underwood.

She is survived by two sons, Michael L. (Chelle) Cherry and Alan D. (Cathy) Cherry both of Huntingburg; two siblings, Diana Rothrock of Jasper and Paul (Marilyn) Underwood of Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Renae Cherry, Darianne Cherry, D.J. Oxley, Bryan Beard and Roy Cole; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ruth Ann Cherry will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 5th.  A rosary prayer vigil will be prayed at 4:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Dubois County Humane Society.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
