Stanley Gress, age 60, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022, at home surrounded by family.

Stan was born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 29, 1961, to Lee and Rita (Fehribach) Gress.  He married Julie Altmeyer on August 31, 1986, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.  He was a 1979 graduate of Jasper High School. He was a lifetime farmer and had a love for all things John Deere. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.  Stan was an avid Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Cardinals fan.  He also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Gress, Ireland, IN, three children, Jordan (Hannah) Gress, Jasper, IN, Allie Gress, and Rachel Gress, both of Ireland, IN,  one granddaughter, Kynlee Gress,  five sisters, Carla (David) Allbright, Becky (Dwain) Allbright, both of Mitchell, IN, Linda (Gregory) Huls, Littleton, CO, Marg (Steve) Buechler, Ireland, IN, Mary (David) Waninger, Chrisney, IN, and four brothers, Duane (Diane) Gress, Ireland, IN, Bob (Teresa) Gress, Huntingburg, IN, Pat (Cindy) Gress, Ireland, IN, and Greg Gress, Denver, CO.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley J. Gress will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with a burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to the wishes of the family.
