Naomi “Ruth” Buechler, age 81 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:45 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, with her family by her side.
Ruth was born in Huntingburg Indiana on March 24, 1941, to Cecil and Irene (Kays) Winkler. She married Joseph “Joe” Buechler on January 19, 1972, in Illinois.
She worked for Masterbrand Cabinets where she retired after 35 years of service.
Ruth was a member of the American Legion Post #147 Auxiliary, Jasper Outdoor Recreation, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Huntingburg, the Jasper Moose, and the VFW Post #673 Auxiliary.
She was very outgoing and liked by all. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, NASCAR, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband, Joe J. Buechler of Jasper, one daughter, Charlotte Renee Stilwell, Jasper, two sons, David “Billy” Stilwell, Huntingburg, and Joe Dee Buechler (Connie), Holland, two grandsons, Shaun Stilwell, Jasper and Daniel Buechler (Sheila), Jasper, one granddaughter, Jaime Stilwell, Jasper, four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters, four sisters, Edra Kay Fritz, St. Anthony, Dianna Elpers, Birdseye, Barbara Winkler, State of Washington, Mary Winkler, Huntingburg, and Robin Winkler, St. Anthony, and two brothers Donnie Winkler, St. Anthony, and David Winkler, State or Oregon.
Preceding her in death were three daughters, Sheila Stilwell, Sherri Bohnert, and Barbara Stilwell, two great-grandchildren, Tim Bohnert, and Rachael Schultz, one great-great grandson, Zane Ahrens, three sisters, Bonnie Hawkins, and Zona Paige, and Mary Winkler, and three brothers, Cecil Jr, Dale, and Keith Winkler.
A funeral service for Naomi “Ruth” Buechler will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at Enlow City Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor Brett Eckert will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 11 am until the 2 pm service time at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The American Legion Post #147 Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at noon.
