Ruth J. Rauscher, age 83, of Huntingburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born May 18, 1939, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Herbert and Ethel (Krohnmeyer) Wellemeyer; and married Leon F. Rauscher on August 27, 1960, at St. Peters Church in Stendal.  Ruth was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed taking trips to French Lick to visit the boat.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold Wellemeyer; a sister and brother-in-law, Mable (Bob) Borman; and a brother-in-law, Richard Latta.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Rauscher; her sons, Kevin Rauscher of Celestine, and Kurt (Elaine) Rauscher of Huntingburg; a sister, Rosemary Latta of Brazil; two grandsons, Tyler (Kelly) Rauscher, Derek (Lauren) Andrews all of Jasper; sister-in-law, Roberta Wellemeyer of Holland; “babysitting grandchildren”, Chelsea (Jeremy) Patton, Zach (Hilary) Schmett; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ruth Rauscher will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow at St. Peters Cemetery.  Pastor John Beasley will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday at the church from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peters Church.  Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com
