(Ferdinand, IN) Duane D. Sheets, 78, of Ferdinand passed away Wednesday, June 21st at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville.

Duane was Born on February 22, 1945, in Franklin County, Columbus Ohio to Vance and Vera (Shoemaker)Sheets. Duane was a member of the Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He was a retired United States Navy Veteran. He served during the Vietnam War. He also retired from Anchor Industries in Evansville.

Surviving is one son, Michael (Nichole) Sheets of Buckskin, IN. Five grandchildren, one brother Jeff (Janice) Sheets of Ashville, OH, one sister, Vivian Hammond of Grove City, OH, his companion, Carol Hugenberg of Ferdinand, and Daughter of the Heart, Blanch (Cherrie) Mercier of Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Phyllis Thompson, and Marilyn Cline, and one brother Kendall Sheets.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 7th at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, followed by burial of cremains in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com
