Ruth E. Fulwider passed away peacefully at Brookside Village Care Facility in Jasper, Indiana on October 23, 2023.
She is survived by her son, Lee Land of Los Angeles, CA, and her daughter, Kristy Vaughn (spouse, Jon), of Jasper, IN. She has 4 grandchildren, Megan Land, Tristan Land, and Nathan Land, all living in Michigan, and Sara Vaughn of Jasper, IN. She was preceded in death by her daughter Leza Temple and her parents, Nimrod and Eloise McDonald (also of Mt. Vernon)
Ruth was a long-time Director of Parks and Recreation in Mt. Vernon, IN. She was devoted to serving her community and the youth of Mt. Vernon were her passion. She loved all of the kids she served over the years like her own. She has many cherished friends and memories of her time at Brittlebank Swimming Pool and The Community Center.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at the Mt. Vernon “Ruth Fulwider” Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 1:00-4:00 pm CT.
