A new Urgent Care facility is set to serve the residents of Loogootee, Martin County, and the surrounding areas. Martin County Urgent Care officially opened its doors on Monday, December 11 at 7:30 a.m. Co-owners Steven Burch and Erin Burns, from Harvest Health & Rehab, were determined to address the healthcare service gap left by the sudden closure of the previous urgent care facility. Concerned about the impact on the local community, they decided to step in and establish Martin County Urgent Care.
Located at 104 Wood Street in Loogootee, the clinic retains the same address as its predecessor but has undergone modern updates and introduces new services. Among the enhancements is the addition of on-site x-ray services. While the facility embraces these changes, a familiar face awaits patients inside – Janet Baugh FNP-C, a seasoned nurse practitioner with 37 years of experience, 20 of which have been as a nurse practitioner.
In addition to Janet, Abby Mitchell PA-C will join the team. A native of Dubois County, Abby recently returned to the area after completing her physician assistant studies at the University of Evansville. She and her husband, Jon, along with their miniature dachshund Macy, are excited to be back home and eager to serve the citizens of Martin County and the surrounding communities.
Martin County Urgent Care aims to provide accessible healthcare solutions for various conditions, including sudden illness, minor injuries, and the need for prompt medical attention. The clinic also offers services such as DOT, school and sports physicals, and flu shots. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments can be scheduled through their website, mcurgentcare.org. Operating hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended days and hours anticipated in late February.
