James A. Kline, 91, of Ferdinand, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at his home. James was born on December 18, 1932, to Fremon and Anna Lulu (Quinlin) Kline. He was united in marriage to Rose Mae Boeglin on November 26, 1953 in St. Ferdinand Church. Rose Mae preceded him in death on December 11, 2015.
James was a former employee at Jasper Novelty, and then worked for North American Products for 37 years. After retirement, he worked at S.I.R.S. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He was an avid Indiana University basketball and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, and watching EWTN for daily mass, rosary & chaplet. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Mike) Greulich of Lamar, Margie (Jeff) Jerger of St. Henry, and Angie (Steve) Rahman of Ferdinand. Two sons, Kevin (Sylvia) Kline and Jeff (Lucinda) Kline both of Ferdinand. Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren an ten, step-great-grandchildren. One half brother, Gerald Wayne Kline of Cannelton. He was preceded in death also by his parents, and foster parents, Frank and Clara Uehlein, 3 infants, and a grandson, Curt Greulich. Five sisters, Amy Dotterweich, Winona Stark, Margaret Perrot, Edna Smith, Rosemary Harper, two half- sisters, Delores Sergesketter and Rita King. Three brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Anthony Lee. A half-brother, Earl.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday June 11th at 11:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. The family is requesting no gifts, Memorial contributions may be made to EWTN, St, Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or The Wounded Warriors Program.
