Bryan Scott Sorgius, 58, of Otwell, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at IU Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scott was born in Washington, Indiana, on February 20, 1966 to William “Bill” and Delores (Benjamin) Sorgius.  He was joined in marriage to Teresa Henson on August 16, 1986.

He was a 1984 graduate of Pike Central High School and 1986 graduate of Vincennes University with an A.S. in Electronics.  He was a member of the First Church of God in Petersburg and retired from AES in 2023 after 37 years of service.  He loved coaching Southern Shock travel softball team and assisting with Pike Central High School’s softball team.  He liked to sit on the porch in the evenings and loved spending time with family, friends, and his dogs Kylo & Cinder.

Scott is survived by his wife, Teresa Sorgius; children Peyton & Tyce (Kayla) Sorgius; brother William “David” (Suzie) Sorgius; mother-in-law Patricia Henson; brother-in-law Donnie (Melanie) Henson; nieces and nephews Summer (John) Roelle, Chelsea (Brent) Schuler, Morgan Henson, Maverick (Shelby) Henson, Cameron Henson, and Coleman Henson; and 4 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Donald Henson, Sr. and sister-in-law Becky Henson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm EST on Friday, August 2, 2024, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Iva Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday and from 8:30am until service time on Friday.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations please be made to Fair Haven Foundation in memory of Scott and may be mailed to 1702 W. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
