Doretha M. Boeglin, 76, of Ferdinand passed away July 29, 2024 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born on November 19, 1947 to Jerome and Anna Mae (Verkamp) Betz. She married Erwin Boeglin on November 8, 1975.

Doretha graduated from Dubois High School. She was a homemaker and helped clean St. Ferdinand Church. She was also a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, and St. Ann’s Sodality. She enjoyed taking Communion to homebound parishioners, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Erwin Boeglin, three sons, Danny (Nettie) Boeglin, Alvin (Gwen) Boeglin both of Ferdinand, and Kevin (Kristin) Boeglin of Huntingburg, one daughter, Ann (Duane) Metz of Huntingburg, 11 grandchildren, Owen, Lance, Kennedy, Avari, Kaden, Easton, Kambry, Naomi, Kale, and Isaiah Boeglin, and Bryce Metz. Three brothers, Marvin (Phyllis) Betz of Celestine, Ralph Betz and Leroy (Jenny) Betz of Schnellville, one sister, Lou Alice (Sam) Dilger of Mariah Hill, one sister in-law, Donna Betz of Celestine.

Doretha was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ernest “Ernie” Betz.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 2nd at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also on Friday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
