Josseline Arasseli Lisset Brown, 12, of Huntingburg, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2024.  She was born June 27, 2012 in Jasper, to Nakea Brown of Jasper. She attended Huntingburg Elementary School and worshiped at The Way Ministry in Huntingburg, IN.

To her friends and family she was Josie, a name which means “God will add or increase.” And Josie’s life did, in fact, do just that. She enlarged the lives of all who knew and loved her. Her beautiful smile and her exuberant laugh were truly infectious. Josie bravely battled cancer for 3 years, but even the loss of one leg and numerous other surgeries and hospital stays could not defeat her resilient spirit – Josie continued to live life to the fullest even as she fought. She loved to swim, get her nails done, and make Tik Tok videos. Always ‘in the know’ with the latest trend, Josie was quick to educate her less-enlightened family members! She was a talented artist and self-taught skincare and makeup expert. Her sass and quick-witted sarcasm amused those who knew her best, but her huge heart made everyone love her.

Josie is forever cherished by her family; mother, Nakea (Cody) Brown, siblings: Daizee Brown, Erixson Romero, Hayden Brown, Willow Brown, and Reylynn Braun; grandmother “Mimi”, Juanita Brown, great grandmother Mary Burch, and aunts, uncles and cousins.  Also holding Josie always in their hearts is her bonus family, Jeremy and Erin (Hall) Marshall of Huntingburg; bonus siblings: Maddux Marshall, Campbell Marshall, Max Marshall, and Ellis Marshall as well as her large extended family of bonus grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Please join us in celebrating Josie’s amazing life on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm EDT, at Fuller Funeral Home in Dale. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Dubois County School Corporation to help fund playground equipment at Huntingburg Elementary in memory of Josie.
