Oscar Mullis, 82, of Siberia, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Oscar was born on March 29, 1942, to Emil and Cecelia (Jacob) Mullis. He married Marilyn Kerstiens on April 20, 1963, in St. Meinrad. Oscar was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366. Oscar served on the R.E.C. and Spencer County Co-Op Board of Directors. He was a salesman for Crow’s-Channel Seed.

Oscar is survived by his wife Marilyn; five sons, Jerry (Lisa) Mullis of Birdseye, Tim (Lisa) Mullis of Adyeville, Darrell (Marlene) Mullis of Santa Claus, Scott (Ginger) Mullis of Siberia and Kurt (Nicole) Mullis of Bretzvile; one daughter, Linda (Wayne) Bueltel of Ferdinand; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy (Elaine) Mullis of Iowa; sister, Mary Ann Troesch of St. Meinrad; sister-in-law, Rose Mullis of Fulda.

Oscar was preceded in death by six brothers, Sylvester (Betty), Joe (Mary Alice), Leo (Rosie), Othmar, Edgar and John (Ruth)Mulis; one sister, Esther (Robert) Klee; brother-in-law, Clarence Troesch.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 25th at 10:00 AM CT at St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 will provide military graveside rights.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7:00 PM CT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.

There will be no visitation on Thursday.
