Amanda Jo Klem, age 32, of Mariah Hill, Indiana, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Amanda was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 7, 1991, to Steve and Susie (Harpenau) Durcholz. She married Theodore “Ted” R. Klem on September 21, 2019, at St. Henry Catholic Church.

A 2010 graduate of Southridge High School, Amanda worked as a Ranch Hand at Santa’s Reindeer Ranch and was a member of the St. Meinrad Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a giving and caring person, serving her country in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Officer, her community as a Spencer County Jailer and Sheriff’s Deputy, and as an organ donor. Amanda touched the lives of everyone she met, bringing joy to those around her with her infectious smile and laugh. She enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and camping, and cherished spending time with her family. Amanda was especially proud to be a mother to Madison and excelled in her role as a parent.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Klem, and their infant daughter, Madison Klem, both of Mariah Hill; her parents, Steve and Susie (Harpenau) Durcholz of St. Henry; three sisters, Heather (James) Jankowski of St. Henry, Krystal (Justin) Luker of Holland, and her twin sister, Tracy (Jason) Haycox of Santa Claus; her maternal grandparents, Ray and Sadie Harpenau of St. Henry; and one nephew and five nieces.

Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dennis and Patricia Durcholz, and her aunt, Stacy Durcholz.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Amanda Jo Klem will be held at 11:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, Indiana. The American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rites, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday, August 12, 2024, at St. Ferdinand Church, and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. ET until the time of services at the church.
