Marie T. Knust, age 96, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away, at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Marie was born in Schnellville, Indiana, on December 7, 1927, to Lawrence and Rosa Schnell. She married Albert “Butch” Knust on August 24, 1948, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1989.
Marie moved to Greenwood, Indiana in 1968. She was employed by General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis as a seat fabricator until retirement.
She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, working on her flower gardens and caring for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Larry) Dillard, grandchildren: Carla (Carey) Slauter and Christy Vance, great grandchildren: Hannah (Austin) Fuller, Natalie (Aaron) Harrell, and Alexandra Vance.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jerome (Mary) Schnell, sister, Anna Mae (Charlie) Haury, and granddaughter, Lisa Marie Dillard.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie T. Knust will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.
