Patricia (Patti) Goepfrich has been honored as the 2024 co-recipient of the Hoosier German-American of the Year award. Her lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting German heritage in Dubois County has been widely recognized. Goepfrich has been a key figure in the collection and preservation of German-American artifacts and has served as editor of the Jasper Deutscher Verein monthly newsletter for over 20 years.

Additionally, Goepfrich organized a four-county high school essay contest, which began in 1999, and received the 2011 German-American Award from the Jasper Deutscher Verein, Sister Cities of Jasper, Inc., and the Jasper Partnership Commission.
