Dan A. Elmore, age 72, of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 1:36 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Dan was born in Greenfield, Indiana, on February 10, 1952, to Clarence and Mardella (Renn) Elmore.  He married Mindy Shaw on September 27, 1992.

He was a 1970 graduate of Warren Central High School and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from IUPUI.

He is a United States Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam Era.

Dan retired from Ford Motor Company, where he had worked for 33 years.

He attended Redemption Christian Church in Jasper and was a lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association.

He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing, was an environmentalist, and an avid Purdue Boilermaker fan.  Dan loved spending time with family and friends, but especially enjoyed his time with his grandson, Aaron.

Surviving are his wife, Mindy Elmore, Celestine, IN, one daughter, Kelly (Rick) Torke, Noblesville, IN, one grandson, Aaron Torke, two sisters, Connie (David) Cooper, Manhattan, KS, Barbara Thuer, Arvada, CO, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is one brother-in-law, John Thuer.

A graveside service for Dan A. Elmore will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Mentor Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana.  Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.  The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military graveside rites.
