Jerry Conrad Jackle, 88, of Boone Township passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2024. He was born to the late Cleda Mehne Jackle and Ceril Dennis Jackle on May 19th, 1936. Jerry married Joyce Ann Fuhrman on September 18th, 1965, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on February 5th, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Dennis. 

He is survived by his daughter Jane Rauscher (Eric) and son John Jackle (Arlet). Also surviving are six grandchildren, Andrew and Julia Rauscher, Kathryn Geha (Jacob), Kylee Cleek, Cali and Jase Jackle and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Gianna Geha and many nieces and nephews. 

Jerry was a 1954 graduate of Jasper High School and completed the Agricultural Short Course at Purdue University. He was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer who served for many years on the Dubois County CO-OP Board of Directors, The Dubois County Bank and Old National Bank Board of Directors, The Dubois Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, and the Hoosier Energy Board of Directors, where he also served as Chairman of the Board.  In 1990, Jerry and his family were the Indiana Farm Family of the Year.  Jerry was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, sang with the choir, men’s choir, Praise Team, Celebration Singers, and served in various other capacities. Jerry was a supporter of Indiana University Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and wintering in Florida. 

A funeral service for Jerry Conrad Jackle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Pastor Timothy Holt will officiate.  The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military graveside rites. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana. There will be no visitation prior to the service at the funeral home or church on Saturday.
