Rella Dean (Jones) Schotter, 90, of Milltown passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 18, 1934, in Crawford County to the late Lowell and Pauline (LaHue) Jones. She graduated from Milltown High School in 1952, and in 1953 she married the love of her life, Albert Henry Schotter of Milltown. They were married for over 63 amazing years! She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marengo. She retired from the Census Bureau.

Rella was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, Sister-in-law, Aunt and Friend. She loved reading, birdwatching, traveling, playing card games, going to fish-fry’s with Albert, fixing sweet treats for the holidays, puzzle books, wheel-of-fortune, and listening to toe-tapping old-time music played by family & friends. She always had a smile, a big laugh, and never met a stranger!

Heaven has a new euchre champion now and we can only imagine how wonderful it must be, with her there, making a fresh batch of cookies! We will miss her every day until we can be together again… she was THE BEST MOM EVER!

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-father George Nicholson, child Mary Schotter, and great-grandson Gabriel Young.

Survivors include her children, Lou Ann (David) Bowman, David (Gloria) Schotter, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Schotter, Jon (Elaine) Schotter, all of Milltown, IN; and Amy Schotter of Corydon, IN. She has 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Justin, Travis, Adam, and Chad Schotter, and great-grandsons Jonathan Schotter and Landon Smith. Honorary pallbearer is grandson Troy Schotter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude in memory of Rella.  She loved kids
