Dr. Richard W. Rudolph, age 85, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 6:52 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. 

Rich was born in Ireland, Indiana, on January 26, 1939, to Lenas and Marian (Leinenbach) Rudolph.  He married Janice Schmidt on August 20, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

Rich was a 1957 graduate of Ireland High School.  He then attended Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Army Veterinary Corps from 1965-1967.

He operated Jasper Pet Clinic for 30 years and then worked for Farbest for 10 years.

Rich was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, the Ireland Lions Club for over 50 years, and he served on the Dubois County Health Board.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Rudolph, Jasper, IN, four daughters, Susan (Steven) Quintana, Pojoaque, NM, Lynne (Bruce) Meyer, Emerald Isle, NC, Cheryl (Chad) Davis, Columbus, OH, Karen (Matt Jenkins) Rudolph, Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada, five grandchildren, Matthew Quintana, Benjamin Meyer, Grace Meyer, Gracie Davis, Sara (Ryan) Payne, two great grandchildren, Roland and Mabel Payne, one sister, Mary Jane (Ron) Eckert, Jasper, IN, one brother, Dave (Angie) Rudolph, Ireland, IN.

Preceding him in death is one brother, John Rudolph.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Richard W. Rudolph will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Monday.  The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Community Food Bank, Jasper Regional Wellness Center or to a favorite charity.
