Dolores Ann Roach, age 90, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Dolores was born in Ragsdale, Indiana, on August 12, 1934, to Robert and Hazel (McCool) McGary.  She married Erwin LeRoy Roach on December 19, 1954, at Asbury Chapel in Ragsdale, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on March 10, 2003.

She was a graduate of Bruceville High School in Bruceville, Indiana.   

She was a homemaker and worked outside of the home and did a lot of volunteer work mainly at the Patoka Valley Center, where she worked from its inception until its closing.  The center was a place for brain injured children, and Dolores cared for those children as her own.

She was a Brownie/Girl Scout/Cadet Scout Leader during the 1970s. She also had worked at Memorial Hospital in Jasper in the OB department.   Most recently, until her retirement she had worked at Big Lots in Jasper, Indiana, where she had become a Customer Service Manager.

She attended the First Nazarene Church in Jasper.

Dolores enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, baking, making various Christmas candies, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.  Dolores also loved ice cream, and she was never known to turn down a bowl!

Surviving are one daughter, Belinda (Jeff) Carter, Dimondale, MI, one son, John (Nancy) Roach, Jasper, IN, nine grandchildren, Carrie, Renae, Angela, Wayne, Bethany, Alicia, Kevin, Nikki, and Jonathan, 15 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, are one son, David Roach, one granddaughter, Rachel Nicole Roach, two sisters, Dorothy Kixmiller and Georgia Whetstine and two brothers, Robert McGary JR. and Ray McGary.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her daughter-in-law, Nancy Roach, who has been her exceptional caregiver for the past few years.

A funeral service for Dolores Roach will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at Asbury Chapel Cemetery in Ragsdale, Indiana. Pastor Wesley Sampson will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
