Christina Jean Hawkins, age 91, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

She was born November 30, 1933, in Ferdinand, Indiana, to Lawrence and Leona (Whipking) Sullivan; and married David J. Hawkins on August 4, 1951.  Christina was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery; cooking and baking; and watching soap operas.  She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hawkins, who died in 2017; her parents; and two sons, David Wayne Hawkins and Randy Lane Hawkins.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula Jean Braunecker of Ferdinand and Kathy Joan Braunecker of Birdseye; two siblings, Richard Sullivan of West Baden and Rose Cravens of Paoli; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye.  The funeral will be officiated by David Wayne Mathies.
