Ardella Zehr, age 90, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Ardella was born in Kellerville, Indiana, to Phillip and Bertha (Harder) Goller on March 5, 1935.  She married Oliver Zehr on November 15, 1952, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Dubois Crossroads.  He preceded her in death on December 8, 2020.

Ardella was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church until her marriage when she joined St. Peter’s UCC in Dubois, where she taught Sunday school, bible school and sang in the choir.  She was also a member of the Women’s Guild and held several offices on the church council.

Ardella was a sales lady for Avon and Fuller Brush for a number of years, worked at Indiana Cabinet in Dubois, the Jasper Corporation and retired from Aristokraft (now Masterbrand) where she was a supervisor at Jasper, Ferdinand, and Celestine plants for 20 plus years.

Surviving are two children, James (Marcia) Zehr, Tamarra “Tammy” (Randy) Kieffner, six grandchildren, Alex (Heather) Zehr, Audra (Andrew) Caldwell, Jamie (Todd) Graves, Michele (Chad Clemons) Zehr, Kristine (Ryan) Probst, and Elizabeth Hansen (finance Onur Dildemgez), 11 great grandchildren, Breanna (Daniel) Nichols, Jazlyn Zehr, Elijah and Jude Caldwell, Leanne and Kaylee Graves, Colton Clemons, Ella, Noah, Liam, and Ross Probst, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Marian) Zehr and two brothers, Edwin and Ervin Goller.

Ardella will be cremated.  A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Peter’s UCC in Dubois, Indiana, with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery. 

A memorial visitation/prayer service will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the 9:00 a.m. memorial service at the church on July 12.

Ardella requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s UCC in Dubois.
