Anna Mae Betz, age 96 of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 8:17 p.m.  on Saturday (May 21, 2016) at the Timbers of Jasper.

Anna Mae BetzAnna Mae was born on June 5, 1919 in Schnellville, Indiana to Henry and Frances (Loechte) Verkamp.  She married Jerome H. Betz on June 9, 1942 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, IN.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 1997.

Anna Mae was a homemaker and a cook for Betz’s Butcher Shop for many years.

She was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine and their St. Anne’s Society.

She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and playing cards.

18 Grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren

Preceding her in death beside her husband was one sister Alberta Betz and two brothers, Leo and Oscar Verkamp.

Funeral services for Anna Mae Betz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 25, 2016), at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until  8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (May 24, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN.  The St. Celestine St. Anne’s Society  will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Celestine Catholic Church, or a favorite charity.
