The Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce has selected it’s new leader. During a news conference held at the chamber offices this morning 38-year old Sara Schroeder was named as the new Executive Director for the Huntingburg Chamber.

Scroeder is a Mariah Hill native and has lived in Huntingburg for the past 17 years. She and her husband are the parents of 4 children and has recently been a stay home mom. She decided to pursue the Executive Director’s position upon its availability.  Schroeder has experience with community outreach. She worked with Crisis Intervention Center and earned a Public Relations degree  from the University of Southern Indiana in 2002.

Schroeder says she has ideas of her own to incorporate to possibly look into activities and programs from the past and possibly revive them. She’s says she’s also looking forward to projects currently underway in the community such as 4th street and other areas in Huntingburg and plans to play role in that activity.

Schroeder says she’s ready and excited to get involved in the community and see how she can do her part to recruit more businesses to become members and be more involved in the chamber.

Schroeder replaces Elizabeth Wertman who resigned from the job last month. Her appointment takes effect immediately.
