Ambrose A. Pfister, age 98 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:36 p.m. on Monday (August 22, 2016) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Ambrose PfisterAmbrose was born on July 20, 1918 in Jasper, Indiana to Amos and Elizabeth (Streicher) Pfister.  He married Mildred Fritch on December 6, 1945 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She preceded him in death on November 20, 2000.

Ambrose retired from Kimball, Jasper Laminates after 28 years of service.

He was a WWII Army Veteran – 1st Battalion, 152 Infantry.  He served in New Guinea from 1941 to 1945.  He was a member of the VFW Post #673 and the American Legion Post #147.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and the Jasper Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing cards.

Preceding him in death besides his wife were three brothers – Donald, Dennis and Leon Pfister.

Funeral services for Ambrose Pfister will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (August 25, 2016) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.  The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, or to a favorite charity.
