Bertha M. Buechlein, age 96 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Friday (August 12, 2016) at the Waters of Huntingburg.

Bertha BuechleinBertha was born in St. Anthony, Indiana on May 22, 1920 to Adam and Rosina (Voegerl) Englert. She married Urban Buechlein on August 19, 1941 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1975.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and their St. Ann’s Society.

She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Preceding her in death beside her husband was one son, Dennis G. Buechlein; one son-in-law – Daryl Maxey; one great-grandchild – Hadley Buechlein; sisters – Mary Kunkler, Elizabeth Braunecker, and Regina Brown; brothers – Edwin, Eugene “Ike”, and Oscar Englert; and one brother Joseph Englert who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Bertha Buechlein will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday (August 18, 2016) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (August 17, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN. The St. Joseph St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.
