David Franklin Payne, age 60, of Jasper, passed away at 6:47 p.m., on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born September 12, 1955, in Indiana to Raymond and Jenny (Morgan) Payne. David’s mother passed away at an early age and he was subsequently raised by his grandmother, Ruth Morgan. David was a former computer and electronics technician; and was currently employed at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill in Jasper. While living in Bloomington, he was proud to have been a member of the build team which constructed Indiana University’s cyclotron. David served in the United States Army National Guard from 1976-80; and loved music and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Payne.

Stacy (companion, Kevin Marchino) Buhr of Huntingburg, Indiana;

One sister-in-law,

Brenda Payne of Bedford, Indiana;

and two granddaughters,

Kayla and Molly Buhr both of Huntingburg, Indiana.

Funeral services for David F. Payne will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with cremation following the funeral. Pastor David King will officiate at the service and the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military honors at the funeral home.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist with burial expenses. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com
