Imogene “Sis” Russell, age 82, of Winslow, passed away at 4:07 p.m., on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Deaconess V.N.A. Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

imogene-russell-obituary-photo771She was born December 25, 1933, in Velpen, Indiana to Ralph and Ruth (King) Henning. She married Herschel “Junior” Russell, on November 14, 1982, in Stendal, Indiana. Imogene worked at Gossard’s Clothing Store in Huntingburg and at the Huntingburg Convalescent Center. She was a member of the Winslow General Baptist Church; and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors working with her flowers and plants. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel “Junior” Russell, who died July 2, 2002; and one sister, Mary Ann Vaughn.

She is survived by:

Two sons and two daughters-in-law,
Rick (Connie) Houchin of Stendal, Ind.,
Mick (Connie) Houchin of Stendal, Ind.;
Three daughters and one son-in-law,
Vicki Houchin of Winslow, Ind.,
Debbie Walker of Elnora, Ind.,
Dixie (Scott) Cunningham of Winslow, Ind.;
One stepson,
Wayne (Charlotte) Russell of Alfordsville, Ind.;
by grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Imogene Russell will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Cup Creek Cemetery near Velpen. Reverend Terry Beadles will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday, the day of the funeral. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com.
