Marcella V. Haake, 94 of Ferdinand died Monday October 17, 2016 at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born August 7, 1922 in Huntingburg to Leo G. & Catherine (Hoge) Schipp. She married J. Roy Haake on February 8, 1947 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2012.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Margaret (Tom) Lents of Dubois. Ruth (Patrick) Lueken & Sara (Ron) Kunkel both of Ferdinand. 4 sons, Patrick (Donna) Haake & Henry (Lisa) Haake both of Ferdinand, Max (Terri) Haake of Chandler, & John Haake of Jasper. 17 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. 1 sister, Dolores Stallings of Rockport.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Janet Haller, Alma Schipp in infancy. 1 brother, Lee Roy Schipp. She was a homemaker. Marcella was a lifelong member of Saint Ferdinand Parish and its St. Ann’s Sodality. She was a member of St. Ann’s Choir, A charter member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary, She was a recipient of the Simon Brute’ Award. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and being with family & friends.

Funeral services 10:00 AM Friday in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and 7:00 to 9:30 AM Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
