Myrtle June Lauderdale, age 91, of Newburgh, formerly of Holland, Indiana passed away at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.

myrtle-lauderdale-obituary-photo770She was born April 2, 1925, in Stendal, Indiana to John and Anna (Eilert) Satkamp. She married Walter Lauderdale on October 14, 1950, in Stendal. Myrtle worked at Schriever’s Grocery Store in Holland; and also enjoyed going to work with her son Scott at his store, Country Gentleman Antiques located in Newburgh, after her husband passed away in 1991. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal where she was active in the Ladies Aid Group and the Quilting Group; was a member of the Holland Senior Citizens; and was an avid Cubs baseball fan. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lauderdale.

She is survived by:

One daughter and son-in-law,
Linda (Randy) Cleek of Evansville, Indiana;
One son,
Scott Lauderdale of Newburgh, Indiana.

Funeral services for Myrtle June Lauderdale will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-7:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday; and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
