James C. Brewer, age 76, of Huntingburg, passed away at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

He was born November 14, 1940, in Mitchell, Indiana to John H. and Esther Louise (Goldsberry) Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a self-employed mulch business operator, farmer and realtor. He served in the United States Army. James was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Hasty.

He is survived by:
Four children,
Theresa Maria (spouse, Bruce) Buse of Huntingburg, Ind.,
Thomas James (spouse, Carolyn) Brewer of Huntingburg, Ind.,
Jeffrey Alan (spouse, Lisa) Brewer of Jasper, Ind.,
Timothy John (spouse, Cindy) Brewer of Huntingburg, Ind.;
His former wife,
Maria Brewer of Huntingburg, Ind.;
Two sisters,
Wilma Vines of Alabama,
Judy (spouse, Kenneth) Barrett of Bloomington, Ind.;
One brother,
Bill (spouse, LeAnna) Brewer of Bloomington, Ind.;
by (10) grandchildren and (7) great grandchildren.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 5:30-8:30 p.m., E.S.T., on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg with military rites conducted by the Holland American Legion Honor Guard.
