James C. Himsel, age 91 of Jasper passed away at 10:18 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017
at his home.

He was at born Haysviille, Indiana on December 17, 1925 to Edward and Helene (Koenig) Himsel.

He married Viola V. Recker on April 17, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2016.

He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European theatre.

He was a retired construction worker and member of the Local labor union #561 and also worked as a machinists for McDonnnell Douglas Air Craft and for Caterpillar.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #673 in Jasper.

He loved reading, history and genealogy

Preceding him in death besides his wife is one daughter, Abby Himsel. 2 grandchildren, Phillip Haas and Nina Marie Himsel. One brother, Robert Himsel.

Funeral services for James Himsel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, in Redemption Christian Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Community Cemetery in Haysville, Indiana. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service time at Redemption Christian Church in Jasper.
