Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy, age 72, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:42 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Jerry was born in Davenport, Iowa, on January 15, 1945, to Theodore and Mathilda (Witt) Mundy. He married Yvonne Korthaus on August 8, 1987 in Wilton, Iowa.

Jerry previously worked for Grunder Ready Mix in Wilton, Iowa. He then worked at Jasper Engines for 25 years.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He volunteered for the French Lick Railroad and was on the Board of Directors from 1995-2009, and after they gave him a lifetime membership for his years of service.

Surviving are his wife Yvonne Mundy, Jasper, IN, two step-daughters, Marjorie Rust (Robert), Seymour, IN, Melissa Korthaus, Jasper, IN, one step-son, Kenneth Korthaus, and fiancé, Heather Hasenour, Jasper, IN, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is one sister, Evelyn Mundy.

A memorial service for Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
