Martin Luther “Luke” Byers, Jr., age 86, of Huntingburg, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at North Park Nursing Center in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born September 4, 1930 in Huntingburg to Martin Luther Byers, Sr. and Verga (Wood) Byers. Martin was a driver for UPS, member of the Huntingburg VFW Post #2366 and Jasper Legion, and played in the Holland semi-pro baseball league. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Delores Byers.

Martin is survived by his children, Shari (James) Case of Evansville, Christi Byers of Evansville, Luke Alan (SeeBee) Byers of San Jose, California; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

There is no public visitation. A private graveside service was held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Fairmount Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW 2366 Memorial Detail. Nass and Son Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Condolences may be shared online at: nassandson.com
