Kent F. Meyer, age 59, of Boone Township, Indiana passed away at 10:43 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, as a result of a farming accident.

Kent was born in Jasper, Indiana, on November 17, 1957, to Melvin W. and Anna Marie (Wening) Meyer. He married Ruth Hoffman on April 7, 1979, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Kent was a member of the Jasper High School Class of 1976.

He was a lifetime farmer.

He was a member of the Jasper German Club and a past member of the Otwell Ruritan Club, the Pike County Young Farmers, and the Dubois County Pork Producers.

He enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Meyer of Boone Township, Indiana, one son, Bart K. Meyer, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Holly Reckelhoff, and her husband, Scott, Jasper, IN, six grandchildren, his parents, Melvin W. and Anna Marie Meyer, Boone Township, IN, two sisters, Melanie Freyberger, and her husband, Dennis, Dubois, IN, and Karen Knust, and her husband, Steve, Newburgh, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
