Betty Mae Caldemeyer, age 86, of Stendal, passed away at 12:40 p.m., on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born September 11, 1930, in Flat Rock, Illinois to James and Lorene (Preston) Blount; and married Norman F. Caldemeyer on August 30, 1952, in Stendal, Indiana. Betty was a homemaker; a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal; and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Caldemeyer, who died August 14, 2015; one brother, James Blount, Jr.; and one sister, JoAnn Goodrum.

Betty is survived by eight children, Brenda (Jerry) Houchin, Sharon (Jim) Roettger, Gary (Karen) Caldemeyer, Rita (Mark) Williams and William (Jolene) Caldemeyer all of Stendal, Larry (Denise) Caldemeyer of Lynnville, Karen (Rodney) Dixon of Winslow and Kutina (Albert) Kline of Holland; four siblings, Jean Eckert of Birdseye, Carolyn Parks of Boonville, Jerry Blount of Velpen and Donald Blount of Stendal; by (23) grandchildren, (29) great grandchildren and (6) great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Betty Mae Caldemeyer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery located west of Stendal. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the services.
