Richard L. Steinhart, age 88 of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 1:20 p.m. Thursday (July 13, 2017) in Northwood Retirement Center in Jasper.

He was born June 7, 1929 at Ireland, Indiana to George and Emma (Sermersheim) Steinhart.

Richard retired from the former Jasper Veneer Mills where he had worked for 37 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Richard enjoyed playing cards, Wii Bowling, Bingo. He was a great historian and loved talking to people especially in German

Preceding him in death besides his parents is one sister, Betty Jean Steinhart. And brother-in-law Harold Neuhoff Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland, Indiana.

Friends may call from Noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary will be held at Noon on Sunday at the funeral home.
