Diane M. Knies, age 73, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, Indiana.

Diane was born in Schnellville, Indiana, on October 27, 1943 to Hilbert and Antionette (Prechtel) Knies.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Campus.

Diane loved playing bingo, and listening to classic country music, with Kitty Wells being her favorite. She loved greeting everyone with a smile and taught by example, showing unconditional love and forgiveness to everyone she met.

Surviving are two sisters, Janice (James) Erny, Port St. Lucie, FL, Marilyn (Gerald) Allen, Milan, IN, two brothers, Steve (Mary) Knies, Boonville, IN and Lonnie Knies, Owensboro, KY, nieces and nephews, Kimberly Erny Wood, Lafayette, IN, Kevin (Catherine) Erny, Jefferson City, MO, Kristin Erny (Mike) Meyer, Port St. Lucie, FL, Karmin Erny (Glen) Goeppner, Ireland, IN, Jeff (Bobbi) Allen, Maineville, OH, Jason Allen, St. Pete Beach, FL, Zachary (Angie) Knies, Boonville, IN, Travis Knies, Boonville, IN, one uncle, Ernest Prechtel, Birdseye, IN, one aunt, Lauretta Prechtel, Santa Claus, IN, 24 great nieces and nephews, 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Hilbert and Antionette Knies.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Diane M. Knies will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the church on Wednesday.
