Shirley Ann Pfaff, age 80, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:27 p.m., on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born September 9, 1936, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Odie Y. and Edith E. (Hawkins) Underwood. Shirley was united in marriage to Vincent Pfaff on April 14, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Shirley was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress at Best Chairs; was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; and enjoyed family gatherings, fishing and outings to the casino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Pfaff, who passed away February 6, 1999; five brothers, Gene, Garrett and Donald Underwood and two brothers who died in infancy; four sisters, Delores Hegge, Mildred Schaeffer, Pence Layton and Marjorie Radtke; and one great granddaughter.

Shirley is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry (Rosanna) Pfaff of Ferdinand and Jeff (Linda) Pfaff of Huntingburg; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen (Greg) Qualters of Eckerty and Anita (Kent) Besaw of Jasper; two sisters, Myrna Vance of Iowa and Joan Pritt of Velpen; by seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Pfaff will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or a favorite charity.
