Wilfred (Wif) R. Buschkoetter, age 87 of Jasper, passed away at 4:23 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born in Ireland, Indiana on July 20, 1930, to Henry and Eleanora (Hulsman) Buschkoetter.  He married Camilla Schlachter on February 27, 1954 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

He was a graduate of Ireland High School Class of 1948.

Wilfred was a US Army Veteran serving during Korean War.

While employed at Jasper Office Furniture, he studied electronics at Ivy Tech in Evansville, Indiana and opened the Jasper Television Inc. which he operated from 1964 thur 1979. Later he worked at Kimball Upholstery for 16 years until retirement.

He was a founding and current member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and member of Mens Society and Life member of V.F. W. Post #673 in Jasper.

Throughout his life he especially enjoyed fishing and boating at Beaver Lake with family and Friends, gardening and creating fishing slip knots. In his retirement he spent many hours’ playing cards and sheephead.

Preceding him in death is one son Blaine Buschkoetter who died in a car accident November 2, 1975.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Precious Blood Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery Jasper. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church. Rosary will be held at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday by members of Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
