John E. “Sonny” Logsdon, age 86 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:27 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN.

John was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on March 6, 1931 to Arleigh and Georgia (Bufkin) Logsdon. He married Geraldine Jochim on February 23, 1954. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2009.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW Post #673.

He retired from the Jasper Corporation after 46 years of service.

John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are three daughters, Sheryl Cody (Bill), Jasper, Victoria Lueken (Mike), Jasper, and Pamela Holtz (Larry), Ireland, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his wife was one brother, Arleigh “Shug” Logsdon.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John Logsdon will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 will conduct Military Gravesite Rites.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
